Electrum Lightning

Electrum hackers pre-empted a large number of "normal" electrum servers on the P2P network.

As mentioned earlier, because electrum light wallets are different from Bitcoin light wallets such as MultiBit or Breadwallet, they cannot communicate directly with bitcoin full nodes and can only communicate with electrum.

The Electrum team has announced the attack in an official tweet, saying that "this is an ongoing phishing attack on Electrum users" and reminding them to check the authenticity of the client's source before logging in. The team published its official website, and the Electrum clients downloaded elsewhere may be problematic.

For India, 70 percent of ATMs are still known to run Windows XP, a 16-year-old operating system that Microsoft has not released security updates to since 2012.

Millions of dollars of digital currency have been stolen, according to Electrum officials. Devi Security Labs recommends that users of Electrum Wallet update to the latest version of the client via the official website and never use the link in the prompt message.

If someone's Electrum wallet is connected to one of these servers and tries to send a BTC transaction, they will see an official message telling them to update their Electrum wallet, as well as a scam URL.

Hackers have hacked Electrum wallets and so far stolen 200 BTCs from users.
